The social media space is already in a frenzy as fans eagerly await the new housemates and 72 days of fun, suspense, entertainment, love, laughter and tears.

Here’s what to know about the new season.

The winner of this year’s show goes home with a grand prize of N100 million consisting of a cash prize of N50 million and an additional N50 million in sponsor prizes. Additionally, 30 fans of the show will earn N1m each in the “Fave Lock-In” promotion exclusive to DStv and GOtv customers.

The show airs from 7 p.m. on DStv 198 and GOtv 29 with simulcast on Africa Magic Showcase, Africa Magic Urban and Africa Magic Family. Fans across Africa will also be able to stream via African online streaming service, Showmax.

There will be no SMS voting, but fans can vote for their favorite housemates for free on BBNaija’s official website and mobile app as well as MyDStv and MyGOtv apps.

The show will run for 72 days and end on October 2, 2022.

Media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu will return as host for the sixth time as the live eviction audience returns after a hiatus last season due to COVID-19 protocol.

Up-and-coming singers like Asake and Vict0ny will delight fans at the event.

Meanwhile, fans took to various social media platforms to air their views ahead of today’s live broadcast.

@renoomokri said: “#BBNaija starts today. Once it’s done, Southern Nigeria will focus on it. But watch the North. Big Brother isn’t big there. We have different values. What Northerners come to do on social media and TV is VERY different from what Southerners come to do!”

@Bayo wrote on Twitter: “Some BBN housemates already planning their pity story for Big Brother. It won’t work IJN”.

“Today another group of Naija celebrities enter the camp, Big Brother,” @PH_P1 wrote on Twitter.

Another Twitter user @crossdabossike said, “This time last year I was preparing for Big Brother and this year I’m doing the same but with new energy. Who does the same with me?

“Can they just postpone this #BBNaija year? let’s focus more on election issues and PVC collection. We have to get it right in 2023!! said @Omo_Kiikan, a not-too-excited fan.

Previous winners of the show include Katung Aduwak, Michael Efe Ejeba, Miracle Igbokwe, Mercy Eke, Olamilekan “Laycon” Agbeleshe, and Hazel Oyeye “Whitemoney” Onou.
