The town of Amherstburg has a new city manager.
The City announced Monday evening the advancement of Valerie Critchley to the position.
Critchley brings with her over 20 years of municipal experience. Before joining the City on an interim basis as Director of Legislative Services and City Clerk in October 2021, she held several
senior management positions with the City of Windsor, including City Clerk, Commissioner of Licensing, and business manager responsible for several departments, including Council
Services, Communications and Customer Service, Policies, Games, Licensing and Enforcement, Human Resources and Employee Relations.

Critchley replaces Peter Simmons, who joined the City on February 28, 2022.
The city has not said why Simmons is no longer the general manager.
